Who is Jeannie Horn?

I am an experienced therapist, having qualified in counselling using therapeutic techniques, and CBT, in the UK.

I hold a Graduate Diploma of Psychotherapy, Bachelor in Social Services, specialising in Counselling, through Otago Polytechnic College and an Advanced Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. I also hold a Cert in Supervision.

I am a BACP Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist; a Member of NZAC (New Zealand Association of Counsellors) and an Accredited Cruse Counsellor.

My experience in New Zealand includes

  • working within Medical Practices, delivering psychoeducational seminars and free counselling of patients
  • working with EAP providers
  • providing counselling support with WINZ
  • consultant work

My approach is integrative, which means I adapt the way I support you, to ensure you get the best out of me. I firmly believe 'one size does not fit all'.

I come from East Yorkshire, in England and have settled in Dunedin with my family. I have a keen sense of humour and I live in the real world, which is an important factor for ensuring counselling works for you.

One of my strongest beliefs about life is:

"If you keep doing what you've always done, you'll get what you've always got."
